Buying computer software via Ebay

Featured Replies

I've bought a couple of needed software and only wanted to warn people to watch out if you can activate the item in Thailand.

A Kaspersky AV for 5 PC's couldn't be activated because of the location. But I've bought from another seller who could deliver the product in minutes and it was very easy to active.

I hope that this topic is allowed here and it would be great if others could write about their experience on buying from Ebay.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Personally I won't touch Kaspersky for obvious reasons.  Anyway, you could easily negate the location issue with a VPN.

Thanks, I've used it for my second license but didn't try it yet. The seller just told me it wouldn't work. The delivery came with a VPN that allows you to choose any country in the world. Will try that later, thanks.

Using as VPN works well for activation. All three licenses are activated/ Thanks for pointing that out.

ye gotta watch them VPNs...I bought win10 from invadeit for a new laptop and tried to activate and wasn't allowed, I had the VPN on (Amsterdam) and hadn't realised...

switched off the VPN and was allowed to activate....and I thought: 'special win10 for SE Asia?'...no further problems...

"FlyVPN" came with one program to activate it. Activated for only a few days. It's great and works for any location worldwide.

I don't think a Windows 10 license is only for a particular place?

dunno, the microsoft failure to activate message said that my location wasn't authorized and this is with the VPN on and set in Amsterdam...switched off the VPN with location in central Thailand et viola...

I mentioned it to greg at invadeit and he was a puzzled as I was...sounded like he had never seen the same problem...

microsoft moves in mysterious ways...

hello to the techies.....any known issues on activating VPN's on Mac, when in Thailand ?

A VPN is just the most essential tool now. Accessing bank accounts from another country is difficult with some banks, without a VPN.

Skype with a regionalised number is a beautiful thing, saves the explanations and saves you a wad of cash. 4 months of use to date 330 minutes call time so far for a top up of 1250 baht (£30) and still 400 baht left. Calls to 11 different countries during time I used it.
