The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has filed a complaint against Pheu Thai former deputy spokesperson Sunisa Lertphakwat, accusing her of violating Article 116 of the Criminal Code governing sedition, as well as the Computer Crime Act for criticising the junta and Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Colonel Burin Thongprapai, a legal officer at the NCPO and Supreme Command, filed the complaint on Wednesday with the Crime Suppression Division on behalf of the NCPO, a source from the junta said on Thursday.

Sunisa allegedly posted allegedly false information on her Facebook account four times “attacking” the junta and Prayut, the complaint said.

One of her posts also mentioned Prayut's recent meeting with rock star-turned-runner Artiwara “Toon Bodyslam” Kongmalai, who is fronting a charity run to raise funds for 11 hospitals across the country.

A first flavour of how it will be during election campaign (in case there is an election).

I learned a few years ago to be careful what I post. Don't criticise this government to much. Don't criticise some things at all. After watching 70 year old people and young university students going to jail for making a Facebook post. Why don't the Thais learn. Sadly, It doesn't look good for this girl .looking at around 3 to 7 years.

If the Thais stop criticizing, then the Junta wins... Freedom of speech is freedom of speech... Keep it up I say !!

As for us posting stuff, no point really..

The government is posting and telling false information on a daily basis. Maybe she should counter complain ?

Did they do away with attitude adjustment sessions, or is that the next step ?

Thailand really has to grow up. If you wanna develop, you will have to learn to criticize and take criticism. If you can’t, the dynamic stays the same; the rich and powerful keep most of the money and the power.

Respectfully, you are assuming that there are fair, clear, and consistent standards.

In my view, the key point here was not what she posted, it was that she was a PTP spokesman.

The contents of the post were incidental and irrelevant...

I realise that.

Why didn't she?

There are some that can post what they like.

There are some that cannot post anything without serious repercussions.

When will they learn?

Easy to say from your foreign armchair.

Try saying that to this girl whilst she is in prison for years. And what about her family that will suffer for years right along with her.

So easy to hide in a fox hole sending idealists to take the bullet.

There are some who have the courage to speak out against their oppressors regardless of the consequences, they have been the spark of change against the status quo.

It all has to start somewhere.

Did you run away from every bully in your life?

I am not having a go at you but, respectfully, I doubt you ran away each time the going got rough.

Some things are worth fighting for. In her case, she chose to stand up for her political beliefs and I applaud her for it.

I'm not saying I'm not proud of her.

But I hate seeing these young people's lives destroyed and in a prison.

Eventually, there will be sour grapes from within. They will fight amongst themselves. There's only so much pie to go around.

That's when we'll see real change.

You can applaud all you like.

Not going to help her .

Short of a miracle, her life is ruined.

I understand your concerns for the young, however the big picture is of their future and the long term future of their country under an oppressive regime.

As for the old boys club they are too close and far too rich to be brought down by infighting, these guys are partying.

After reading that,

I bet there are two or three very nervous TV farang ... :cheesy:

karma.

I am not sure what to say to you.

My sense is that your compassion and concern are genuine.

However, if people don't stand up to bullies, then what kind of life is there? Where would we be without Mandela? Washington? Gandhi? Churchill? Etc.? Etc.? Etc.?

What are you going on about !!!

I'm not sending anyone to take a bullet :)

I'm supporting/applauding her decision to speak up for what she believes...

Takes more like her to make a change.

As for me in my "armchair", I'm not in a position in this country to make any difference. I hope if the need every arose, in a country that I could make a difference, I would step up to the plate like these brave folk.

What matter is what Thais feel about this and social media are a good barometer. Most that I read have nothing but praise for Sunisa and posted fighting encouragement for her. Thais are getting sick and tire of this junta and I sense a snowball effect of Thais critical of the continuing intimidation and speaking out.

Who are the junta advisers ??? NCPO is actually doing a good job in helping promoting sunisa.......Many people will know her now because of that......

Careful guys, the the troll has awakened and he's busy taking names and sending them in to his beloved junta.

There are names for people like you but unfortunately TVF does not allow them to be used.

So this isn't about a the long awaited third part of her "Where are you?" trilogy, then?

There is no karma for some people:

Prayut on April 12, 2016 said in a media interview that he ordered Thai authorities to take legal action against anyone involved in efforts to mock him on social media:

“I will prosecute them all. They can’t make fun of me… My legal team already has their eyes on these people. What they do is illegal.”

Steven Colbert, Seth Meyer and Trevor Noah can only wish Prayut is American. Rich material making fun of this thin skin PM wannabe.
