January 15, 200719 yr I just ran through several of the freeware threads and noticed that none seemed to include a screenshot utility. I find I often have a need to take screenshots. Can some of you Windows users offer names or URLs to some of your favorite screenshot applications. Thank you...
January 15, 200719 yr I don't know if you tried it already, but the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard is one way of doing it.
January 15, 200719 yr Author Thank you, Pattayaman! Allow me to slip a t in your FastStone Capture Katana- Thank you. I was aware of that option, but prefer one with more functionality: hiding ability, save to multiple file types, etc.
January 15, 200719 yr You don't need to buy or download anything. Simply press the print Screen key THEN press start/ then Programes/ then Accessories/ then open Paint AND Right click paste. There you go, you have now printed your screen. Jim
January 16, 200719 yr It's definitely in our download section over here I was a bit doubting where to put it and it ended up in the windows utilities section instead of the graphics one...

January 16, 200719 yr There is a very small program named FSCREEN which don't need any installation and the size is just ~40 kB. Uses the PrtScr Buttom for capture and works excellent
January 16, 200719 yr It's not freeware, but if you use ACDSee for your photo needs, it also includes a high-functionality screen grabber.
January 16, 200719 yr I don’t understand what all the discussion about programs is? To get a screenshot all you have to do is CLICK “ Print Screen’ This copies the screen to your clipboard and you can paste it wherever you want Jim
January 16, 200719 yr Author JC- The discussion is because some of us want more control than a full screen shot. We may want a timer, or to be able to select a small portion of our screen, or we might want our screenshot fed to us in one of numerous file formats.... Thank you to all for your contributions. Any one else have a favorite?
January 16, 200719 yr Author Reimar- Thanks! FSCREEN loaded on a thumbdrive would probably be ideal for use in Internet cafes.
January 25, 200719 yr I dunno if you mean this sort of thing, but I use MS Snap Shot (freeware. Great, very functional, also easily put in task bar for rapid access, when you open the program (and doesn't remain there) when you close the program
