Jonathan Fairfield Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Happy New Year! Controversial Pattaya road set to be finished by the holidays Image: STV Pattaya A controversial Pattaya road that has been dug up for more than two years is now almost finished. Soi Siam Country Club has been a nightmare for locals since May of 2015 and has faced one problem or obstacle after another, reported Sophon Cable TV on Facebook. But yesterday Bang Lamung district chief Naris Niramaiwong expressed himself pleased that the project is virtually 100% complete. He was there with his minions on a visit of inspection. There is just a bit of clearing up, cleaning and minor drainage questions to sort out - it should all be finished in the next seven days in time for New Year. Naris said that he will be asking for a budget of 15 million baht to improve street lighting along the four kilometer stretch of road. Kerryd Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Uh huh. I guess the part around the overpass construction will take a couple more years. I just rode through there 2 days ago and it is no where near complete.
mikebell Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Now there's just the matter of compensating all the businesses ruined by lack of access through the local authority's incompetence.
Ulic Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Years behind. I just wonder who were the schmoes who benefited in the long run. Did property/businesses change hands. Just curious.
