Tourist police yesterday announced the quick arrest of a 52 year old Pattaya taxi driver who made off with a Korean couple's luggage as they bargained a taxi fare from the resort to Suvarnabhumi.

The couple were making the journey from the Bang Jak gas station in North Pattaya and had loaded up their belongings but not yet fixed the price, reported INN.

But before they had a chance to get in the vehicle Seksan Muthuta drove off.

He was arrested within a day with nine items belonging to the Koreans including 2 million won, 29,910 baht, passports, a black women's bag and an iPad.

All the stolen items were returned to the Korean tourists yeaterday and Seksan was charged with theft in the hours of darkness using a conveyance in pursuit of the crime.

That's 4 years then. Under the cover of darkness doubles the 1 year for theft and using a conveyance to commit a crime, i.e. the taxi, doubles it again. Stunningly stupid to do it from a petrol station where it was guaranteed to be caught on CCTV. Som nam na!

I am staggered Pattaya police have dared to charge a member of the taximeter(less) mafia.  I thought they were allowed to get away with murder.

i mean this guy has the brain of a flea.

Tomorrow another story about an honest cab driver returning something.

It was the first time he did it!

So did they miss their flights if he had the passports?

Yes, but if the chief of police gets a hard time about crime affecting tourist ratings from a government Minister, may just be too much.

That's one of the qualifications required when applying for a Thai taxi drivers licence.

a black women's bag

Surely a womens' black bag.

Just the fact him being a cheat taxi driver, deserves him to get some extra lock up time...it will always be one cheat and thief less, who will not rip off another expat or tourist.

These taxi crooks are a disgrace to the entire country. :post-4641-1156693976:

Use Grab or Uber next time. At least you can track the car.

The Baht bus was used as a tool for the "crime"

So should be confiscated and "crushed"

To let the other "rogues" know what the consequences of crime will be
