BANGKOK — Thailand’s diplomatic mission in Munich is slated for expansion, with a new Consulate-General to replace its honorary representative, a top foreign affairs official said Monday.

Under a plan approved by the Cabinet, the new Consulate-General’s office will cover the two German regions of Bayern and Baden-Württemberg. The change means Thailand will have a second Consulate-General in Germany in addition to one already in Frankfurt.

The Thai embassy is in Colditz?

I wonder how the foreign ministry reacted when they were told.

It's Neuschwanstein Castle  in  southwest Bavaria and no where near Munich

That is the instantly recognisable "Schloss Neuschwanstein", the "fairytale" castle built by "Mad" King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the 19th century.

About 120km  from Munich.

An excellent example of the "that'll do" picture editing so prevalent on these pages.

Like putting a picture of Big Ben and referring to Manchester

Wow! That surely must be the grandest consulate of any nation in the whole wide world! Well done, Thailand! That will shut up those who keep saying you are a Third World country.

...I wonder why....:coffee1:

Is that the Schloss recently bought by the big man ? I know he likes Germany/Bavaria/Austria.

It's clearly a buffon posted  information.

Why not post a photo of the Hohenzollern  castle?

When constant useless information is posted it's relevance  becomes useless.

It's still a very nice building.

If you think hard you will probably work it out, perhaps it has something to do with somebody important being a resident there recently.

I'll PM you

I guess the only other picture they had representing Bavaria was a beer garden, which is now illegal in Thailand, so they got stuck with Neuschwanstein:

Its entirely appropriate in this context

I wonder if the new consulate comes with a flying car?  I understand the flying car also is a bomb detector.

It really isn't that far from the "City of Singles" aka Munich.
