Enter Thailand with a Thai birth certificate and an Australian passport

Featured Replies

My wife has a Thai birth certificate but no Thai passport.  She was born in Hong Kong.

She got the Thai birth certificate in Hong Kong and was told to get the house registration and ID card in Thailand.

She will apply for the House Registration and ID card while in Thailand.

We will go on holiday in Thailand in May. I am just wondering if she can just line up at the line for the local Thai nationals since this is faster and not the line for other nationals.

Thanks!

Unless she has a Thai passport for entry she will have to go through the non Thai line.

Edit: She could inquire at the Thai consulate in Hong Kong about getting a certificate of identity that would allow her to enter as a Thai. If she entered using it she would have to do the registration, ID card and get Thai passport port before leaving the country.
