PHUKET: A total of 120 police officers from seven provinces falling under Police Region 8 this week attended a training session in how to respond to alerts from the recently launched ‘police I lert u’ smartphone application.

 

The training session, held on Wednesday and yesterday (Dec 20-21) at the Region 8 Police Headquarters based in Mai Khao at the northern end of Phuket, was specifically targetted at the new app which allows people to directly contact officers in case of an emergency over the New Year holiday.

Let's hope they all manage to purchase their smartphones by the time the App is launched !!

Expect to see a lot of lerted police in Phuket.

Only for Thai or other people that can read Thai, in the app you can also can send a message (if you have time for it) but I hope the police officers can also read other languages then Thai.

So for sure not an app for tourists.

Must they who look down at us get a good laugh, CTV cameras and smartphone apps shall save us from idiots in/on a vehicle and criminals.

Anything to avoid actual police work
