Plane tickets, is it worth buying 2 for us, they can always be altered of we get refused, if not then whats the best idea?

The advice from the embassy is not to buy tickets before you get the result of the visa application (for obvious reasons). The cheaper tickets often cannot be changed without a penalty.

I would think it not too difficult to get tickets at his time of year if you're not fussy about which airline and are flexible within a day of two.

However a lot of agents will hold a booking until a few days before the flight before payment is required.
