Where Can I Buy Mosquito Netting In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Where can I buy mosquito netting in Bangkok?

Is there any place within walking distance of the BTS?

How much should it cost?

thanks,

Many places.... Try Central Department Store Chit Lom. Should be 300-400 baht for a good one, i believe.

All the shops that provide window frames will fit mosquito screens for a small charge.

I always liked the idea of a mosquito net but when I had relations visiting from England we were in bungalows by the river with nets over the bed. Next morning they said that they had to abandon the thing because it was too hot; the A/C couldn't get through! I have a fantrap in my room which attracts them with a blue light, I set it up an hour before bed and it runs all night, a useful night-light too, next day when I check I would have an average of six of the little blighters in there, they die of exhaustion I think because the fan forces them down into the floor of the trap. About a week ago feeling like a bit of scent I lit one of those incence burners which uses scent evaporating from the heated water, the 'pong' was Jasmine, checking the trap next day no bodies at all! I light the thing all the time now although there has been a body-count lately, six yesterday after not checking for three days. I have just checked today and there are five but it did rain and is humid now which may explain the activity. I was aware of a bite on my thumb during the night but can not see anything now. We spray liberally around the drain in the soi occasionally and the house is very toxic for the crawling insects which may help; mossies have to come on foot you know, when they are breaching defences. I used to think as did the 'colonial Brits' that G&T was the answer but I can't get into that every night but have in the past so perhaps that is why I am not much bothered. Please keep us up-dated on developments, and good luck.
