As make their food choices for this festive season, cakes featuring the faces of Toon Bodyslam or Artiwara Kongmalai and Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha are selling like hotcakes in Uttaradit.

More than 8,000 pounds (3629 kilograms) of cakes worth more than Bt1 million have been ordered by customers from the Department of Food and Nutrition of Uttaradit Vocational College from Wednesday to January 2.

The two most popular cakes feature the singer-fundraiser’s face and that of PM Prayut. Other cakes feature tourist attractions of the province and provincially famous appeals.

Made by students, the college has sold cakes for people both in Uttaradit and other provinces for more than 10 years. The number of orders placed rises every year because of the good quality of raw material, Paitoon Tanthanon, director of Uttaradit Vocational College, said yesterday.

This year, the students applied the concept of Thailand 4.0 to produce their cakes, using existing and innovative technology, and tried to draw public attention by baking three dimensional cakes for the same price – Bt170 per pound.

Aren’t all cakes 3 dimensional?

I tried that concept this morning and ended up with a burnt toast.

So it's ok to have Boss Hog picture on cakes to sell/give away but not a certain lady’s face on calendars  :shock1:

As opposed to the rest of the world that still successfully applies traditional methods of baking.
