She's chosen the right country for shopping, given the depreciation of the Pound against the Baht (and all other currencies).

Shop in London and get more value for your Baht! Free advertising for the UK to attract wealthy Thais.

Unless it is a product made in the UK from entirely British materials, which is unusual, won't the prices just have gone up to reflect the retailers additional cost?

I once worked for a wealthy family that built casinos. You never saw their bodyguards until it was too late for you.  She probably has the best bodyguards in the world working for her. Maybe not but with a net worth over 1 billion she is definitely at risk without them so my bet is get too close and you will be politely but firmly intercepted.

The Met are the only sheriffs in town. Anyone prancing about in the manner (no pun intended) you have described will either be shot or trussed up like a Bernard Matthews Turkey!

Utter nonsense, plenty of people have bodyguards in London and they will "politely but firmly intercept" if you get too close, just as described, you do not see film stars body guards being shot or trussed up, ever.

Sure and I'm sure her wealth did not come from the Thai people at all.

She was born into great wealth, she is actually a Chiang Mai royal, she also managed a telecommunications company and married a CP executive, of course she has some money, but ultimately of course the wealth of anyone does come from other people, it's hardly intersting though.

I mean what makes you think they are not currently serving?  Angone carrying a gun on a British street is either in the police or the army, there are no private armed guards.

They have nothing to do with Christies.  I know the people there very well. I was there for a Christmas drink recently.  However that area is home to many middle eastern  billionaires who certainly have considerable security personnel.  Anyone can employ personal protection from one of the many companies supplying that service.  It is unlikely (in my opinion) that Yingluk would have bodyguards travelling with her but she would almost certainly have local ones.  Still this isn't Yingluk so it's all irrelevant.

it is irrelevent and the guys i saw weren't protecting anyone from the middle east. at least i dont think so. and yes i know some guys went into private security but they couldn't carry the kind of weapons they had legally doing private work. by the way. not too many middle eastern guys around there. a few, i know that area well

So do I and I have middle eastern clients who live there.  Mainly to the north of Piccadilly but their visitors stay at the Ritz or the serviced apartments in Bury Street.  Not arguing with you Happy enough, I am sure we are both speaking from our own knowledge.
