One day overstay C Mai Airport

Featured Replies

Foolishly forgot my 90 days is realy only 89 and flight out of C mai is one day later  than end dateend of leave to stay.

What is the worst that can happen?

If I take taxi hotel to airport for early flight seems little chance of a police check?

Then pay 500 at airport or is it safer to go to immigration and pay for 1 day extension, which is cheaper than altering flights.

Would I need to arrive considerably earlier  my flights about 9am?

Any advice appreciated

You can clear the 1 day overstay at the airport on departure from the country. Some airports do not charge for one day of overstay but think Chiang Mai does. Just allow a a little extra time for them to do it,

Thanks Joe

I've had a 1 day overstay before, exit Don muaeng airport.
Was given a 1 day amesty stay stamp, so no fines.
If there is a big queue, you could flag down an immigration officer and show them the overstay. They might direct you directly to the immigration office for faster processing

most likely a warning and put on a watch list.. and possibly scrutinization upon your next entry and visit... or possibily a small fine.
