Days Off
Hi! I'm in the process of selling a house in the US. I've got a power of attorney with a friend to handle signing most of the documents. However, I'm being told that the deed needs to be signed by me, and notarized with two witnesses. I know I can go to the US Embassy to get documents notarized. However, the embassy staff cannot serve as witnesses and each witness needs to make a separate appointment. This is a PITA...I don't know two other folks with the free time to go to the embassy to serve as witnesses. Is there anywhere else in Bangkok to get documents notarized that aren't as strict? Thanks!
Langsuan Man
Yes, most English speaking Thai lawyers offer notary service , as do many postal shops, accountants and travel agents. They can serve as your witnesses You just have to determine if the "buyer" in the US will accept a foreign notary vice the US Consular Officer
