Muay Thai

Featured Replies

Has anyone else noticed that if a farang is fighting a Thai in a Muay Thai bout the farang must knock out his opponent if he is going to have any chance of winning the bout. I have seen crazy one sided fights where the farang absolutely dominates his opponent, but if his opponent is a Thai and he is still standing at the end of the fight, the Thai will win every time.

Just something I have observed after watching may Muay Thai fights.  What do you think?

Kicks score twice a punch. Farangs often useless at kicking while Thais useless at punching.

While some fights are rigged (in all fight styles) you need to understand the mt scoring.

This is spot on, even the clinches / throws score.

As with all forms of fighting KO will eliminate judges decisions.

Knees and elbows Score much higher as well. But I would say no two outcomes ever match. But you could say the same thing about MMA in Brazil

I've noticed this in Thai - Cambodian fights.

A mate of mine had a filipino boxer in a televised WBC title fight here when the Thai started to lose the rounds got shorter, one 30 seconds short and funnily enought the Thai won. When he showed the ref the times on the rounds as he had recorded every round he just shrugged his shoulders, when we left 40 minutes later the Thai still couldn't stand up.
