EMS tracking doesn't go abroad?

Featured Replies

Hi

I sent a letter to England on the 4th Jan ....i think its' called EMS Track and Trace.

Not vitally important but I paid 100 plus baht instead of about 35 so I could watch the delivery.

It went to Lamphun then to SUV in a few steps, and on the 5th was shipped out of SUV.

Things is the webpage speaks of it being international tracking but SUV is the last I heard now 6 days ago.

Normal/abnormal?

thanks!

works fine for me when i send airmail packages to the us and dont pay for ems

http://track.thailandpost.co.th/tracking/default.aspx

for US once it departs Thailand, it takes like 6 -8 days till i see it has arrived in the states.

You can't send an EMS letter to England for 100+ Baht, that will have been registered mail, and it will show when delivered but not tracked all the way.

when the item leaves Thailand per the Thai track and trace get into the website for postal track and trace in the receiving country and use yer thai track and trace number there...

That is what I do for Canada.  After a few day at Canada Postal Customs the EMS letter is tracked on Canada Post web Site.

So like other said,  check the tracking on UK Postal web site. And later on Thailand Post as itmay show on both tracking web site.

Thanks for all the good answers....I had the same question but never asked, just assumed tracking wasn't possible once it hit the other country

An international tracking number in Thailand costs 65 baht, so that's what you paid for since your final cost was 100 baht and the base price was 35.

Always track in the receiving country, even if it does sometimes work from the sending country.  You often get more updates.

Some obscure countries don't have their own tracking system (or they don't have an English version) so for these you can use the all-in-one tracking websites which cover most of the world.  I've found the US Post tracking website (USPS) works well for packages sent all over the world, even if they never started or finished (or went anywhere near) the US.

Same.

Nothing on Thaipost for over a week (since SUV out) and nothing on Royal Mail.

Kinda surprised.

In fact Royal

Mail has repeatedly said

SYSTEM ERROR.....the system is unable to confirm the status of your item number RR xxxxxxxxx. Please Try later.

And later

And later

This happened to me. I found out there is a second tracking page on a different url. That showed the whole delivery. It was to UK. Sadly i did not record this url but have a root around on the thai post pages.

Do you mean that you have any other wrong information ?!

A post containing a racial slur has been removed along with reply.

I have had two letter go missing,  EMS Registered from Thailand,  both were lost in the maze that is JFK or LAX US Postal processing facilities

Am currently tracking an EMS Express Mail Envelope that arrived at the LAX processing facility on Nov 11th and is still processing.........

Next time I will use FEDEX for about the same price,  after this experience

Out of the blue the Royal Mail website showed something in UK with a signature.
Guess the eagle has landed.

It arrived on the Thai Post tracker!

It will track on the Thai Post Office website.

My experience has been that when it gets to Suvanhapum mail centre it tends to "sit" there for perhaps three or four days, then the tracking starts again once it arrives in the destination country.

I've even phoned the postal helpline about it, after the same thing happened four or five times. They claimed my parcel was probably waiting for an international flight to the destination, and sometimes it could be up to two weeks!

This is despite at least daily flights (to the UK and also Finland, in the case of my parcels).

Having said all that, I've never had anything go astray, just "recuperating" at the airport before its long flight.
