Pattaya:--Five new Pattaya-area toll booths have opened on Highway 7, but will remain free until April 19.

Apichart Chansrap, deputy director of the Highways Department, said the opening of the booths marks the completion of the Chonburi end of the Bangkok-Chonburi Expressway.

The five new toll booths are located in Ban Bung, Bangpra, Nongkham, Pong, and Pattaya.

Rates will be one baht per kilometer driven, with the cost from Pattaya to Chonburi remaining 60 baht until April 18, when the toll will jump to 105 baht for cars, 170 baht for six-wheeled vehicles and 245 baht for 10-wheel trucks.

Chonburi residents accustomed to using Highway 7 locally for free pleaded for an exemption or some sort of accommodation. However, the Highways Department said such motorists should use access roads that run parallel to the motorway instead.

So what will the cost be in total from BKK to Pattaya?  Will this deter weekenders?

How about a surcharge of one baht per Chinese as these non-spenders are driving away Europeans?

Am I the only one who is confused?

The 5 new toll booths will remain FREE until April 19, but the cost from Pattaya to Chonburi ( which has always been free ), remains 60 Baht until April 18.

My new price list says 105B from Bangkok to Pattaya and 50B from Chonburi to Pattaya. The old toll gates near Chonburi are not shown so I guess they will demolish them.

The toll from Pattaya to the Chonburi  H7 gates looks like it will be free until gates are removed.

Article is wrong, from Bangkok to Pattaya is 60 baht, pay at Pattaya's gate same 60 as before where you pay at the Chonburi Gate until April

The old  booths at Chonburi (Pan Thong) are being dismantled now

 I

came from airport suvanbhumi and paid 60 bht at pattaya  10 days ago

  • 2 weeks later...

Exit booths at Lam chabang and Highway 36 are already a mess.    traffic backing up on to the motorway trying to exit.  Holiday travel and weekends beware.

As of April 19th the cost from the airport to Pattaya will be 105 baht.        Survarnabuhmi Airport

Went to BKK couple of days ago, traffic was better. Please make the toll a cool 5k so we better people can get to suva without the jams and the poi holloi can bugger off to the side sois.

Almost same as the bus from Jomtien . Just leave your car at home.
