Visiting Lecturer

Featured Replies

My question, of which I seem not to be able to find an answer via internet, is; if a university asks you to be a visiting lecturer for a short period of time, 2 days a week, 4 hours each day, do I need a work permit?

Thank you in advance for advice.

The correct answer is yes you need a work permit. But the chances of being caught are slim.

Would you be paid for it?

Yes, I am retired but the the length of this is only 2 months. The school says no, because they have lecturers visiting from many other countries and they are paid, and the school puts them up for their stay. The university is KMITL.

AFAIK the university can issue a special invitation letter/document
for that purpose.

Yes they did issue an invitation letter with the invitation reference number on it. i really do not want to go through all the BS with non-b and labor to do this for just 2 months.
