CCTV footage from Ubon Ratchathani showed the moment when a foundation rescue vehicle collided with a ten wheel truck at an intersection.

The pick-up from Jeetam Koh Ubon Ratchathani rescue had earlier responded to an accident and was on the way home.

Six people were grievously injured in the pick-up that went directly under the wheels of the larger vehicle causing it to flip over.

Eighteen year old volunteer Khwanjira Duangjan or "Praew" - a sixth former at Nareenukun School died later.

Three people on the ten wheeler were slightly injured.

Daily News said that the accident happened at the Na Yia - Na Suang intersection where flashing lights warn motorists to take care.

The CCTV footage indicated the accident happened at 2.52am Wednesday morning.

Daily News said that after the footage was shared online many people registered their condolences to the family of the dead teenager.

Na Yia police are investigating.

That light was red for a long time before the truck entered the intersection.  He had more than enough time to stop, or at leas slow down.  Should be charged with murder and never allowed to drive anything again.

In a law-abiding society yes, but as you know he will be back driving after a wai to the family.

Nothing to do with the lights, they were only acting as a warning system

The truck was travelling at a reasonable speed in the situation

But as for the Emergency vehicle going flat out heading into a intersection, that would be answerable

Watch the video again.

Those traffic lights been flashing. It's the same as the 4 stop signs in the US. In Europe we don't have that. One has every time the right of way.

Here, that means everyone has to stop and check for clearance then you are permitted to enter.

The truck was first on the intersection, unfortunately for this teenager he didn't stop but also didn't slow down the ambulance driver.

This is fate, according to the PM. I would say a lack of training and a very poor traffic law.

Huge impact; both vehicles approaching a dangerous junction at higher speeds than would be prudent given that there are 'flashing' warning lights during the night hours.

'Attitude'....the biggest problem in Thailand.

RIP the lost Lass and hopes of a speedy recovery for the injured.

The pick-up looks like he was doing Mach 2.

Haven't we all seen that before?

First responder vehicles, with someone without proper training, driving like an idiot through traffic (not just to an accident but just all the time). Its only a matter of time something like this happens.

You would think people in this line of duty would drive extra carefully, but my wife told me she is the only one wearing a seatbelt in the ambulance going to and from road accidents.

The truck had a red flashing light indicating it was to stop and proceed when clear.

The rescue vehicle had a flashing yellow indicating it should slow and proceed with

caution. While the rescue vehicle had the right of way it was driving much too quickly

(as they always seem to do). Don't die defending your right of way. Both at fault as

neither demonstrated understanding of the caution and respect to give other drivers.

RIP young lady
