Fruit wine and labels

Featured Replies

Just a question for the followers of Baccus.

I've noticed lately that the printed info' on bottles of 'wine' the small and getting smaller 'Fruit Wine' note is getting smaller by the month.

The price also seems to be increasing slowly as well.

Main question I want to ask, because I haven't been for while, is 'Fruit Wine' that is wine with 10- 25% fruit juice common now in UK, EU or wherever.

Reason for asking is today my wife bought a bottle of Oz wine and when checking it the front label had no mention of where it was bottled and the back had 'Fruit Wine' in very small print on the back label.

I can't imagine going to a bar in Italy and getting served 'Fruit Wine.'

Any opinions out there??

Absolutely loads, there's a thread going somewhere on this.

I really can't see a bar or restaurant in the EU being allowed by law to sell this crap.

Wish I could find the thread you mention.

Any more clues?

Edit.

I wonder if the companies that sell wine in bulk are aware it gets fruit juice added and still gets sold with their name on the label.
