Bua Yai district police will seek an arrest warrant from the provincial court against a school director facing charge of committing an indecent act against minor for allegedly having an affair with a 14-year-old female student.

Police were waiting throughout the day on Friday (Jan 26) for the director to turn himself in to acknowledge the charge after a summons was served on him to show up.  Until late afternoon, he still didn’t show up.

The school director whose identity was not disclosed by the police to protect the name of his school and the identity of the victim has been suspended from active duty pending a fact-finding probe.

Well, go find him!!!

Then, toss his ass in jail and leave him there for a long, long, long time.

Rather like the Red Bull case, lots of announcements from the police over what they are going to do but little or no action.

Cops pay for their posts and they need to recoup that outlay multiple times. They know school directors are big shots with high level connections. If they arrest him and he calls someone higher up who calls someone higher in the police who gets the arresting officer shifted to an inactive post, then the cop has lost money and wasted time on the case. The case officer needs to get in there quick, grab some cash and end his role quickly. I don't think he will or can do that here so the cop will do nothing instead and pass the case on to somebody else.

good progress but it is also worth noting that when we talk about Thai age - this girl is actually 13 as we determine age in the west, her last birthday was 13 and has not had her 14th birthday, in Thailand she is on her 14th year and so is determined to be 14

She could have actually been 12 for all we know when this relationship started as if 13 isn't bad enough

I am not defending this POS teacher in any way, but from everything I've read, the different reports, this young girl was not exactly innocent by any means.

As reported in two different stories, she had been living with a boy as "husband & wife" for almost two years, but then broke up with him for the teacher.

So, she was roughly 12 or so, and living with a boy, apparently engaging in sex, if they were in a "husband & wife" situation.  Which doesn't exactly make her a "poor little innocent girl" who was taken advantage of by the older man.

by all accounts she was "a poor little innocent girl" abused from a very early age were adults let it happen and she was eventually abused by an adult

There is no other way to look at it, perhaps her parents should also be in the dock

I totally agree about the parents.  They should be charged with "child neglect" and even "child abuse" for allowing any of this to begin with.  What sort of parent lets their 11-12 year old daughter go live with a boy as his "wife"?

No!  It makes her a poor little girl who was taken advantage of by the older man!

And now 120 days to decide if he is guilty and what he is guilty of!

This place has lost the plot, long ago!  Find him, arrest him, and keep him behind bars until he is sentenced for being the scumbag predator that he is, and no doubt, always has been!

It makes me sick reading this crap, day after day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is this nonsense about serving someone papers for such a crime and then wait for him/ her to show up. This is not a civil case involving land, this is an outright criminal case and the accused perp should be picked up IMMEDIATELY and NOT given time to flee! How many of these case do we have to hear about?! Read him his rights, work  him over for a confession, and then pose with the pointing cops.

What this case demonstrates, is the acceptance of such child abuse by Thai society is being challenged by the authorities (as it has captured media attention). What is still likely to happen, is that this scumbag will pay off the parents (and probably the police) to avoid legal action being taken against him. Until Thai society are 'educated' in what is morally and legally wrong in todays world, such practices will continue as it has done for decades, especially in poorer areas of Thailand.

This is not an isolated case. Abuse of power happens at all levels - and not just in Thailand.
