Would you have to cancel your visa before leaving Thailand by land?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Would you need to go to the Immigration Office to cancel

your Non-B visa with a termination letter if you didn't renew

your contract and left the country by land a few days before

it expired?

Thank you in advance.

Crossing the border (without having obtained a Re-entry Permit) automatically cancels your visa. If you are leaving Thailand with no plans for an immediate return, crossing the border is all you need to do.  If you are planning to return soon after exiting, provide further details on what your plan or intention is.

There would be no need to cancel the 90 day entry from a non-b visa.

If you have an extension of stay based upon working  some border crossings will want to see that it is canceled or a termination letter dated on or after the day you leave the country.

If you plan on applying for another extension it is best to formally cancel to the extension since some immigration will not issue a new extension without it being canceled. Leaving the country only makes the extension invalid not canceled.

Thank you for the info.

Yes, it's the extension of stay based on working that I've been living in Thailand on now.
