3 or 4 day overstay

Featured Replies

Hi,

I miscalculated my departure date, my Visa will expire March 23, flight is booked for Mar 26, 6:30AM.

Have already made two land entries since Sept 2017, Mae Sai and Chiang Khong, did an extension at the Immigration office in Nong Khai. Current 30 day stamp will expire Feb 22, planning on getting an extension at the Immigration office in Chiang Khong.

The fine will be less expensive than re-booking the flight, just wondering whether an overstay stamp will create a problem when I apply for the next visa ... planning to return in Oct on a METV from the US.

Thanks,

DS

The land border Visa Exempt stamp limit  of 2 per calendar  year , begins again on January 1st ,so, you could make another VES run , which would probably be cheaper than paying the 2000 Baht overstay fine .

Also, you can only extend a VES one time .30 days + 30 day extension , you can apply again, but you will get a refusal and be given 7 days to leave the Country

Rather than paying the overstay fine of 500 baht per day it would be best to apply for an extension, pay the 1900 baht fee and be granted 7 days to leave the country after it is denied.

I have another question regarding the statement above:

"The land border Visa Exempt stamp limit of 2 per calendar  year"   which sounds to me like Jan 1  to Dec 31

I  understood that it was a max of 2 land entries within any 12 month period ... in my case that would be September to September...

The above is correct.

It is not from your first entry at a land border.
