PATTAYA:--Motorists are disappointed that Soi Siam Country Club is still riddled with roadblocks after authorities promised to completely reopen the East Pattaya street after it has been closed for years by road construction.

 

Nongprue Secretary Teerawit Thongnok and sub-district engineering chief Thonghcia Kamlangthai inspected the supposedly completed project Jan. 13 after contractor Suwaree Co. officially “delivered” the redeveloped road nearly a year late.

 

The inspectors started at Raiwanasin Market and followed down toward Sukhumvit Road to check that roads were painted, drains unblocked and all gravel and sand had been removed from the road surface.

 

After several hours the officials pronounced the job done and proclaimed the road officially open.

 

As has been the case so often over the past three years, what the officials said was not completely accurate.
