BANGKOK, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- The annual multi-national military exercise codenamed Cobra Gold will be held in Thailand's eastern region next month, said a Thai navy officer on Sunday.

Thailand, the United States and several other Asian countries will have their military personnel join in the annual military exercise on Feb. 13-23 in eastern Thai provinces including Sattahip naval base in Chonburi, U-tapao naval air base in Rayong, Chachoengsao and Chanthaburi, said the navy officer on condition of anonymity.

I spent 4 months of my life training Saudi MOI troops my one really clear memory is of the boss before we left explaining that even though we all knew we had completely wasted our time for the last third of a year it had lead to selling a few tornado fighters and most importantly if we ever went to war with them we also knew how truly firkin <deleted> they were...

Bet a few Devil dogs will be thinking a similar sort of thing

The visiting military personnel will be able to have a good belly laugh when they see Thailand's naval pride and joy HTMS Chakri Naruebet, the planeless derelict aircraft carrier now moored at Sattahip and used a tourist attraction (for Thai people only, foreigners not permitted because of "security risks" but more likely the Thais are ashamed).

Blue Force vs. Red Force - be interesting to wait for a Japanese contingent

it's only been 76 years since the last time the defenders had to (really) play pretend to repel the 'invaders'

How will the US GI cope in the face of so many Thai Generals?

Gecko Bronze, would probably be a more fitting name.

i thought the british were sending troops to this cobra gold up kanchanaburi way?

**oops sorry, that was panther gold. just about selling hardware as far as i can work out

Er.... I don’t think you needed to include the word “really”, is your last paragraph.

Do the troops still stand guard duty? We sometimes called it on Watch. I am hoping no watches involved in this Cobra Gold thing.
