Premchai hunting case leads to more restrictions in national parks

Pressure builds to stop keeping children in detention centres

AUTHORITIES are preparing to cease putting children seeking asylum into detention centres.

 

“Relevant agencies have seen eye-to-eye that these children should not be subjected to detention,” National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) commissioner Angkana Neelapaijit said recently.

Phimai Dam stops distributing water to farmers amid drought fears

Student intern blows the whistle on poverty centre’s alleged Bt6.9 embezzlement scam

Proposed Kra Canal not current government project: Thailand

 

A Thai spokesman said Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha had insisted his government did not have a policy on the project.

 

BANGKOK: The Thai Government has made it clear that the proposed Kra Canal project is neither a priority currently nor does it have a policy on the proposed man-made waterway which will link the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
