Although economically problematic, ecologically it is essential. Our home; Planet Earth simply cannot sustain more and more people leading consumer driven Western lifestyles.

As a consumer driven Westerner, let's get rid of some people! As the majority of people are on the Asian continent, us consumer driven Westerners do not need to worry. :coffee1:

The new economic independence of women is the core reason less children are being born.

Before, many people got together as family because of economic "necessity".

Now, as the new independent woman has emerged, they don't feel the need to submit to male domination.

Before they get intimately involved in a relationship, they are going to make sure their personal needs are met.

The good news is that in the long run, basic nature takes its course.

Both men and women know in their hearts that the best way to go through life is with a sincere loving partner.

Many more relationships of the future will be truly sincere and more beautiful than ever before.

Out of that natural love and beauty, more children will come into the world.

The population of Thailand and the rest of the world will stabilize in a way that benefits everyone.

Ageing population with declining birth rates is a big issue in Japan I believe.  Young people find it so expensive to live and eat and work is so difficult.

The sooner we can get those robots to do all the work and while we stay home with nothing to do but procreate, the better.

If the magic pills work, they'll soon be buying magic beans to fix the education system.

555 - 'they' need magic to fix almost everything!

Nothing else seems to bring any long term improvements.

Is this a true figure about birth rate ,I am out and about most days and the young girls I see  with babies in arms ,or on the back of a motorbike, they seem to more than before ,wife's granddaughter  had a baby last year ,the local hospital maternity ward was full , looking around the average age of a mother was  about 20 ,so much for working for material possessions  before starting a family .

Sex is still a taboo subject in Thailand, more education is needed about sex and family planning, before try to increase the birth rate , how many of these young mothers relationship's will end in a disaster, leaving the family to pick up the pieces.

As a ps must agree the world has more than  enough people without adding any more, just not sustainable

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

In case of Thais the definition of advanced is somewhere about an adjustable wrench.

Birth rates have dropped sharply from more than 6 children per woman in 1960 to 1.5 in 2015,

Something must be done. At this rate the elite will have no one to exploit. I suppose paying people a living wage might encourage people to have larger families, but that would be totally out of the question. After all a middle class is an endangered species everywhere on the planet.
