Well, why is it that the USA sees the need for its major military presence, supplemented by the threat of Israeli air strikes then? Yes, Irans conventional military hardware is reported as pretty much wiped out, but they do have ballistic missiles and drones which continue to do harm to their neighbors and potentially anyone else in the region who is within range. And by using them to keep the straits of Hormuz closed, they harm many many countries. The nuclear program was supposedly obliterated prior to the current conflict starting. So were those statements true, or not? They were certainly made and an intelligence analyst was fired for contradicting them (reportedly). To try and tie this back to the current topic, I think this all shows how the conflict in the region, Israel/USA, Iran/Hamas, is very very polarizing. There is very little middle ground and maybe that’s why the moron Frenchman attacked the two ladies. On the other hand, he assaulted other people in the town including policemen, so maybe whichever country they said they were from, he would have used it as an excuse to attack them. Maybe, obviously I don’t actually know.
