  • February 2019? There are many important things / events to take care of before that. And, will the invasion of Gambia will be over by then as well?

  • Yes, there could well be one or two massive state events - you know what they are - which could be used to delay things just at the moment before the 'election'. The junta will not let anything go to

  • And his words are not worth the paper they are not written on!

Prayut also says

depend on the situation at the time

This says it all. :coffee1:

The date of the election, if any, will be decided from afar. :wai:

He could have said "Elections will be held when pigs will fly". It would have been more credible.

That's great news Thailand has an unelected PM, that can count from 2015 to 2019.

and the scary thing is we may be saddled with this lying fool for years;

if he gets in as outside PM, he will infect all his appointments with unqualified cronies and thailand will continue to backslide

I can hear the bells on the other one !

Prayut also warned that it would also depend on the situation at the time. “I am not making any threats.

Prayut controls the "situation" at any time!

And when the NCPO Chief who wields absolute power "warns," that implies a threat.

But he seems to enjoy underplaying his power to force people's behavior.

Lets hope there is instability around January 2019.  :coffee1:

There will only be an "election" when this a$$ wipe knows he is guaranteed to retain his power.

Todays joke of the day

IT will be a lot more than a joke when blood starts getting spilled which it inevitably will before Feb next year. We are heading down the same slippery slope as Syria.

“Now I will give you a clear answer. The election will take place no later than February 2019,” the prime minister told Government House reporters during a press briefing.

I thought his earlier answers were supposed to be clear? Perhaps it's use of the Roman date that is causing confusion in government circles. Can we then assume a date 'no later than ' February 2562?

So you actually are happy to see people suffer in preference to having a democratic vote? What level of "instability" would you like to see?

His main problem is that the longer he waits with election the more he will lose his followers and sympathising followers. But on the other hand he needs a supporting party just founded by Suthep. That is his dilemma. The existing parties would not support him

And the paper they are written on hangs in the toilet anyway:w00t:

And all this thanks to Suthep and the PAD.
3 times cheerio

Sadly I can't place a bet on Thailand having an election any time soon, guess the words out.

Maybe we should start calling him Prayocchio. Yes . . . looks good, sounds good, too . . . and definitely righter than 'Payut'!

I'm still working on that one. Another 8 hours, then I'll set Google on it. Good words, though.
