Leaning utility pole replaced on Soi Buakhao

PATTAYA:--Soi Buakhao’s landmark leaning power pole is no more.

 

Following a Pattaya Mail story last month, the Provincial Electricity Authority removed and replaced the tilted pole in front of the Tree Town Market.

 

Locals said the pole had been leaning perilously for a decade. But despite its longtime, worrisome condition, neither the PEA or any utility company or government agency has seen fit to fix it. Put it the spotlight, the utility got on the job.

 

The eight-meter pole was replaced by a taller, thicker version to support the massive tangle of electricity and communications lines on it and prevent tall trucks from snagging the lines, as was not uncommon before.

Yeah right, just hang it all in a pole again.

The "taller thicker" pole was put in last year, and the leaning pole has not been replaced, but has been straightened up and had the wires removed or tidied up.

Instead of just leaving them on the ground! What were they thinking?

I cant understand this jumbled mass of cables, why is it different in the West ?

The bright, shiny new one will now be used as a pole dancing accessory

lack of any kind of planning in LOS, its all me me me.   reminds me of that restaurant on the east side lost all its car parking due to the new road 555
