snoop1130 Posted March 2, 2018 Share Posted March 2, 2018 Krabi Airport’s runway cracked By Kritsada Mueanhawong A passenger using Facebook account, Atipoj Srisukhon, posted a picture of a cracked runway at Krabi International Airport, expressing the concern about the safety today (March 2). The damage is several metres wide but is limited to the extreme ends of the runway at both ends. The Director of Krabi International Airport, Atthaporn Nuang-Udom, said that he acknowledged the matter and damage to the runway surface. “I think the crack was caused by the heavy rain for the past few days and the spot is a place where planes usually turn off the runway onto the general arrival apron. It doesn’t disturb the take-off and landing of the planes as the cracks are at the end edge of the runway,” he said. ozfarang Posted March 3, 2018 Share Posted March 3, 2018 That's some serious tarmac damage there. Who ever laid the original tarmac did a terrible job if it lifts like the photo shows.
