Is it possible to apply for a 60 day tourist visa in early May for Travel in early July. (Phnom Penh)

 

Once granted the tourist visa, how long until it expires?

 

For example, if I was granted the visa on May 1 and entered Thailand July 1, would the 60 days start from July 1?

A Tourist Visa is valid for 3 months. (Issued 1st May, Enter before 1st August)

The validity of the Visa and the validity of your permission to stay are separate periods.

Enter 1st July, stamped permission to stay 29th August.

You can extend your permission to stay by a further 30 days at local Immigration even though the validity of the Visa has expired.

If the visa is issued on May 1st you’ll be able to enter any day on or before it’s expory date (3 months) which will be July 31st. You’ll receive permission to stay for 60 days whenever you enter/use the visa.
