Just completed 700 Kim trip, chiang Mai to chiang rai, then next day onto chiang khong, then next day phayou, then back to chiang Mai, stopped o/ nite, I enjoy a cleansing ale, very scenic, good roads, good accommodation, on my Kawasaki boss , I used all of the 175cc's on some of them hills, but got there, found a few faults, which I fixed ( chain & sprockets worn ) foot peg broke 5klm's out of phayou ( lucky wasn't in the mountains ) fixed for free, have since replaced with original new ones, nothing like a good ride to find faults, consider improvements,

cheers songhklasid.
