webfact
Petch Dam to the rescue! Hua Hin water shortage prompts change in supply FILE photo The Irrigation Department has decided to start pumping fresh water from the Petch Dam to Hua Hin and Cha-Am. Director Dr Thongplaew Kongjam said that the increasing demands of the area in terms of economic development, tourism and housing means there is not enough capacity at the Pranburi Dam for agricultural purposes. Pranburi Dam pumps 120 million cubic meters of water to the area per year but it is no longer enough. Petch Dam supplies will now be used to met demand.
