PPAO rushes to repair Chalong Pier jetty suspected of being ‘damaged by boat’

PHUKET:-- The Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO or OrBorJor) have confirmed that they are responsible for restoring a damaged jetty at Ao Chalong Pier, which officials suspect may have been hit by a fishing boat on Sunday (Mar 4).

PPAO Transport Division Director Prasit Yotarak told The Phuket News today, “The jetty collapsed on Sunday Mar 4, possibly due to a boat, which used its stern to approach the jetty on its right side, hitting the jetty.

“We are hurriedly fixing it. We are recovering the jetty right now,” he said.
