Extension of Visa Exempt or Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Good Day,

I have been travelling to Thailand to see my Thai wife sometimes on Visa Exempt and other times on Tourist Visa, depending on my time off.

I have never tried to get either of these extended. I would like to find if I can extend either, if so how much does it cost, for how long and where would I have to go to obtain the extension, I would be staying in Chaiyaphum.

Many thanks and regards

You can extend an entry from a visa exempt or tourist visa for 30 days for a fee of 1900 baht.

You can apply for it at the immigration office in Chaiyaphum.

Thank you Ubonjoe, is there an immigration office in Chaiyaphum City?

Yes there is. See this topic.

Since you are coming to Thailand to visit your Thai wife, you should also be able to get a 60 day extension. Same fee, but your wife will have to be with you when you apply.

You can extend for 30 days as a tourist, OR 60 days to visit your wife. It’s also possible to apply for 30 days, and then apply for a 60 day extension giving 90 days in total.

Thanks for all the replies but is there an immigration office in Chaiyaphum City itself, not Khon Kaen?
