BANGKOK — Police said Tuesday their search for a fugitive billionaire wanted in Thailand for killing a police officer with his Ferrari has hit a dead end.

Six months after Vorayuth Yoovidhya, the 32-year-old scion to the Red Bull energy drink empire, was the subject of an Interpol alert, a police spokesman said that notice remains active but the investigation has all but concluded.

I wonder if there will be any fallout on sales of the family product as a result, a boycott wouldn't surprise me. And the overseas chapter of Thai's Abroad has swelled by one, what's the statute of limitations on this I wonder.

As reported in another thread, the police definitely deserve a higher salary.

Excellent work on this case.

These are the 'good' people, the business elite with a direct path to the ear of government. Frightening!

... nope, no surprise here.

What a bunch o' losers ...

Amazing. Pick some mushrooms, lock 'em up and throw away the key.... get hammered drunk and kill someone and you've never seen so many blind eyes. Interesting how there's no comment from the policeman's family.  Hmmmm, I wonder why.

As many of us have been saying all along, he is above the law. Any and all laws. With the current government in place, their sole job is to protect worms like this one, and make sure they never face justice. That is for certain. Same goes for the serial killer on Dark Tao. Not only do these guys never face arrest and prosecution, but the opposite is the case. They are protected at all levels from the common cop, all the way up to the very weak and small PM.

I don't think many globally would give a fig about this guy and his crime...and I certainly don't think a boycott would ever get off the ground....the Red Bull name is synonymous with excellence in sport and just so accepted everywhere...RB cliff diving, RB racing, RB air races....skateboarding, skiing....to name a few!

And the next non-surprise will be due tomorrow, when the panther killer is supposed to turn up at court to acknowledge additional charges.

Mark my words: Only his lawyer is going to show, offering a flimsy excuse for his client's absence while the latter has reportedly already absconded to Bangladesh. He is not going to stay there, of course, but will eventually settle into a comfortable, carefree life someplace else.

And it will be yet another lesson NOT learned by the authorities. Because they NEVER learn in such cases. Because they don't care. Because they are corrupt. And because some among them have received big brown envelopes. But go pick a few mushrooms and, hey, you're sentenced and jailed literally within in a matter of days.

Oh! They learn ok, they  learn to increase the pressure until the combined weight of the brown envelopes exceeds the applied pressure. Simple physics at play.

Why punish the Salzburg,Austria based company for the sins of the Thais. Yes, there's a financial connection, but it's not Red Bull in Thailand, but Krating Daeng. I am sure the No.1 man, Dietrich Meteschitz has made his feelings known.

Not to mention tens of thousands of innocent employees of the corporation(s) whose jobs would be at risk.

In the USA we have 'MONSTER'........... Much better and an optional choice..........

Still probably won't hurt the 'Red Bull' 'A'hole though..... I think he has inherited more than enough already.................

Red Bull "boss" is home free. Interpol don't have he ability to arrest anyone. All they can do is tell other countries who are part of Interpol that his home country Thailand want him apprehended and extradited. If those member countries don't feel inclined to do so they won't even bother to put the notice on the Notice Board. Probably screw it up and throw it down the toilet as a show of respect for the Thai police.

Likely in Thailand the whole time.
