DPM Prawit denies the existence of CIA’s secret prison in Thailand

Featured Replies

Oh the humility.....

All this time I've been telling those barstool CIA agents they are full of <deleted>.

My most humble apologies as I was unaware of your non-secret secret prisons.

He is speaking in the now like Clinton did during his impeachment trial.  So now there may not be a secret prison, but it has been talked about repeatedly for years now, and in most journalistic circles it is a for gone conclusion.  The watch troll has little credibility, so he said say nothing.

Maybe not now anymore,. But certainly in the past after 7/11  the airplanes were spotted and there  codes published on Bangkok Post. Never wonder why the US was suporting the man in Dubai.

I interpreted his statement to mean that there is no CIA Blacksite at U-Tapao (Detention Site Green) NOW.

I don't think he is denying that there was such a facility previously. Cables have been declassified which describe the facility and the "techniques" used. Everyone agrees that the tapes had to be destroyed as they would have caused a <deleted> moment in the U.S. and elsewhere.

Historically, Thailand's own security services (CSOC/ISOC) have done much, much, much worse things to/on their own citizens, so maybe Prawit should just remain silent?

I have heard that a new watch is coming out and is to be called 'The Prawit Special': it lies every time it tells you the time!

No, you ask it the time and it responds *I know nothing about that*

Of course their is a secret CIA installation here.

It is just round the corner from Soi Cowboy. That is why you can always find a couple of CIA agents who have popped round the corner for a couple of beers. They are jolly cunning though, they always post fat old farangs to this secret base  - that way they fit into the local "scene" and no one would ever guess that they are special forces agents - until they get pissed and tell you...

Hello Mr. Watchtower, you were probably too busy collecting items from your friends to know what was happening. Let me use the famous phrase of Walter Cronkite: "And now you know the rest of the story..."

Meanwhile in the U.S. media:

The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), which represents survivors of the CIA rendition and torture program, reacted, “During [President George W. Bush’s] administration, Gina Haspel oversaw the torture of Abu Zubaydah and others at a CIA black site in Thailand, where he was waterboarded 83 times. She was then instrumental in the destruction of the tapes of those interrogations, which were evidence of torture.” (Source: Anti Media)

Hahahaha, oops he just made himself not creditable.

"Not on my watch!"

Knock off versions off this have been available for years... it will be cool to be able to brandish an origional P Special.

Given the choice of believing this little toad or the Americans, is not a difficult decision.

The man has shown himself to be totally untrustworthy, so I will not be starting to do so now.

Yes, the Yanks don't ever lie, do they?  How about asking them the same question and seeing what the answer is?

What else do they expect him to say?  What has been the Yanks response to the question of whether they had a secret torture prison in Thailand?

No one in their right mind would seriously ask any government that question and expect an affirmative answer!

Secretly?

That totally cracks me up !

"Black sites".....

Voice of America

Ampur Ban Dung

Udon Thani province.

Check it out someday.....

Although you'll never get through the gates without, ahem, the proper security clearance.....

Considering it's "meant to be" a radio transmitting station, it has unusual security, and an awful lot of what appear to be receivers rather than just transmitters.

Been there an awful long time.

Then he's got to be the ONLY one that doesn't know

For those that dont know, let me introduce Bernard Manning. .

His resemblance to Kn Prawit is obvious, and further to that, they are both comedians.

Here's a better one!

Never would have thought that the CIA would have a "Secret Prison" in Thailand...but since the Toads lips are moving.....

555, so it IS true. If this guy denies something, it is very likely to be true.

Forgive me, but I lost track of the whole watch saga, what was the eventual excuse that got him off the hook ? Simply the denial ?

He did not get off the hook.

He couldn't find his arse even when sitting on both hands!

If you would have let the CIA handle your watch debacle, you might have been left with a shred of integrity. With the Thai sheeple  of course.

It’s possible he has been offered a spot in Trump’s cabinet!

How could a secret prison be set up in Thailand?

Einstein would answer: In the same way like they are set up in other countries.
