Family says hospital should own up after cancer pictures posted online

A family is furious and is claiming that a hospital posted pictures of a female relative on a fan page that showed her breast cancer.

The pictures claimed that the patient had been treated by "Dr Saeng" a well known herbal remedy specialist visited by thousands of Thais.

The post showing the rotten state of the woman's nipples said: "That's what you get after six months of Dr Saeng's treatment. Very sad".

The family told Workpoint TV in a phone call that it was rubbish. They did not put their trust solely in Dr Saeng's hands and they thought that someone at the hospital - perhaps a doctor - had posted the pictures.

Dr Saengchai Haelerttrakun himself said that he does not advocate any of his clients just taking his remedies. He says they should be taken in conjunction with proper medical care from a qualified doctor.

He too said that the pictures were possibly from a hospital or doctor designed to discredit him.

How did the family become "furious"?

It's not clear to me whether the "post" on the fan page identified the woman by name, or by including her face in the photo?

Difficult (for me) to work it out, as the original article is in entirely in Thai.
