Apparel groups including H&M and Gap urge Cambodia garment industry reform, seek meeting with Hun Sen

A group representing some of the largest apparel brands in the US and Europe – including Gap, H&M and ASOS – expressed “growing concern” on Tuesday over several controversial labour laws and ongoing court cases against unionists described as restrictive and unjust.

In an open letter to Prime Minister Hun Sen, the apparel groups also call for amendments to the contentious 2016 Trade Union Law and ask the government to strengthen the Arbitration Council, a dispute resolution body that has gained a reputation for fairness and independence.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French

And what would they say to Hun Sen? He is a serial killing former leader of the Kymer Rouge. This genocidal maniac, has amassed billions by stealing land from his people. He jails or kills his opponents, and censures media outlets that are critical of him. He is NOT a democratically elected leader. He is a despot dictator, at this point. What will they say to him? Be fair. Be nice. Make sure these people are well paid?

And all of this is being done, while the Western powers look on, and give him a free pass.

"Growing concern" = yeah, but we aint gettin' outta Dodge, 'cos we make too much money with these ridiculous labour rates.
