Schools and Work Permits

Recommended Posts

Can a private or international school employ people without a work permit? If they hire staff from abroad are the new members of staff allowed to work either before the application is filed or when the application is being processed?

They may be allowed while application is in progress.....maybe depending upon ???

I certainly wouldn't want to risk  it...no work permit no work..no mater what the school says.

No. Work can’t start until the work permit has been issued.

Call me cynical but schools will try it.

Reasons,

some teachers may walk after a month, some teachers may turn out to be useless/unsuitable.

Some schools will pay the first 3 months cash and keep with-holding tax, (pocket money for the school) then start tax records when the WP is issued and pay the teacher off just before the fist year is up or just after. Means the teacher will only have tax records for 10/11 months and severence pay will be 30 days, if tax records show more than 12 months then severence is 90 days.

None of the above changes the fact No WP No work allowed by law.
