March 28, 20188 yr Hi guys, what is the most efficient air cond to have in Surin Thailand. I need 1 for each bedroom and 1 for lounge room? Thx
March 28, 20188 yr Brands aside you have a basic choice of conventional or inverter technology. Conventional are cheaper to buy, inverters can save money on power under certain conditions. Inverters are also more sensitive to power supply issues and more expensive to fix if they do go pop. We have three Samsung conventional units in our bedrooms (no lounge A/C) which have been fine for approaching 6 years requiring only regular cleaning, this is unlike our Samsung inverter washing machine which was finally (partially) refunded by Samsung after they decided they couldn't fix it (there's a thread in electrical all about the whole debacle). Typical Thai "finger in the air" sizing says 600-700 BTU per m2 of floor space, bedrooms can get away with rather less since they tend to be occupied during the cooler hours. Others will be along with personal recommendations for brands, but it's important to get one which has good local support. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
