A major portion was matched to a 2009 doctoral dissertation by Dr. Paula Zwozdiak-Myers, where phrasing, structural arguments, and specific errors from the original text were replicated with minimal changes. Journal Articles & Field Research: Media and academic investigations (including a detailed 63-page dossier prepared by Times Higher Education) uncovered instances of uncredited text across several of his published journal articles. In some instances, borrowed text reportedly appeared within quoted material that was presented as original interview transcripts from Arday's own research subjects. The physical data (the matching texts) constitutes undeniable evidence of lifting/copying.
