Thailand J
Probably free membership comes with minimum 1000B first time purchase. I was told the membership is lifetime , no need to renew.

All their branches charge the same prices, and all honour their free discount card which usually gets you around 5% off. Medicines usually cost less by the box than by the strip there, so buy in quantity when practical. Apparently there are places in Bangkok that are a bit cheaper and who will post things to you here, but that would only seem worthwhile for very expensive medicines. ALL pharmacies in BKK are cheaper, not not only those dodgy operations selling fake Viagra near Soi Nana. I paid 49 Baht for a pack of MIRAZID at the small pharmacy near the housing estate I used to live in a BKK suburb, haven't seen it for less than 75 anywhere in Pattaya (even at reputable chains such as SaveDrug or Fascino) with some charging up to 99 Baht. Same pattern for hypertension meds and others
Jingthing
That's probably true in general but we live here. For me it's not worth going to Bangkok just to shop for meds, but if there anyway, sure, go shopping!

SaveDrug seems slightly more expensive though certainly reputable as well

They don't have everything so you need to shop. Like one med I use they don't sell the generic so I obviously buy that med elsewhere.

Or it might be a copycat. Latest price observation: AMOKSIKLAV anti-biotic drug in BKK 199 Baht at Fascino PTY 220 Baht at BOOTS pharmacy in PTY 250 Baht
Jingthing
Nope. I said it was cheaper for some things. You won't find a pharmacy in town that is cheaper for everything. If you take expensive meds regularly shop around for each med. Clear enough?!? KittenKong
A box of Amplopine10 was 500 Baht in there whereas it is 300 in Fascino That's one of the very common medicines that I take. When I started on it I asked around at many pharmacies here, and Fascino was by far the cheapest even without the discount card. I have never paid anything for my discount card. Dont know why not. I mentioned earlier that I took my Fascino receipt to a local pharmacy and they agreed to charge the same price. I am going there tomorrow to see if the agreement still stands, if not then I'll jump on the Baht bus to Fascino. I got my discount card "free" too as my first purchase was over a predetermined amount.Unfortunately I have forgotten what it was... Regarding my visit to the pharmacy at Big C today. Neither of the 2 people serving was the bloke I see serving in there regularly when I have walked passed previously and they might have been "trying it on" but that's up to them.... My recommendation is to buy your medicine from a shop that uses air conditioning at least most the day and evening, as room temperature in Thailand is too hot for optimum storage of most medicines. You also want to get your medicine from a shop that has a decent turnover. Check expiry dates! You don't need to bring no stinking card or badge. Just have your mobile phone # on record. Same as it always was along with same price.
