Siem Reap Provincial Court yesterday charged one Frenchman and two Cambodians over the possession of 1.6 kilograms of marijuana. Brigadier General Oum Amara, chief of the Siem Reap provincial anti-drug police bureau, identified the accused as 35-year-old French tourist Adam Scott, 48-year-old grocery vendor Sim Bros, and 48-year-old grocery vendor Prum Neang.

He said Mr Scott was charged with drug use and possession while Mr Bros and Ms Neang were charged with drug possession. Each suspect faces two to five years in prison if convicted, according to Brig Gen Amara, who said the three men had been sent to jail pending trial.

Captain Huy Saroeun, a Siem Reap provincial anti-drug police officer, said the men were actively selling dried marijuana to foreign tourists in the province. The three were arrested on Saturday at around midnight at Mr Scott’s rental home in Traing village in Siem Reap city’s Slor Kram commune, according to Cap Saroeun.

no one shall be jailed anymore for cannabis !
Cannabis got great medical use, great base material for fabric, fuel, eco/bio plastic, furniture and several hundreds of different uses, without polluting !

its time governments all around the globe  go back to the early 1930 when it was still legal, as it has been for the last 5000 years !
