April 11, 20187 yr Hi, This has probably been asked many times and I have tried to find the answers to what I need but can't find any. I am an expat here, and have bad eyesight (-10 in both eyes). I wear glasses/contacts and when I lived in the UK, I had eye examinations once every 6 months. I went to an optician shop here and it was horrific, I don't even think they were trained. My left eye is twitching, and even though I know this isn't usually serious, I asked the lady during the "eye examination" and she said "can't see it twitching" and it "might to do with your age" I am 29. Does anyone know of a good place I can go? Thorough examination? I don't mind the cost (as its my eyes) but anyone know what I would be paying? Thanks in advance
April 11, 20187 yr You go to a hospital ophthalmology department for exams here from medical doctors. Most optical shops are sales people and not trained to optometrist standards. If in Bangkok there is a dedicated hospital of long standing just for eyes called Rutnin Full exam with slit lamp/pressure/computer I suspect would run 2,000 baht or less; but that is just a guess
April 11, 20187 yr do a forum search on 'Rutnin'...widely recommended hosp. in BKK... they have a website http://rutnin.com/en/home/
