    Updates on fork upgrade ?

  • Bought one last February, I’ve put about 13,000kms on it, no issues to report. IMO always better to go to main service centre in BKK, good for window shopping too. I got Ducati khon kaen to change t

Nice one.

I have a 939 although I don;t get to see it much due to working away (in Singapore).

Have just bought an Akraprovic end can and Tail Tidy to fit when I get back in a week or so.

Will be riding to the Moto GP race in October, from home in Korat.

Daily riot in Singapore is an MT-09.

Comparisons ? Ducati watercooled 4Valver vs MT09?

(big fan of air cooled 2Valvers, big fan of the XSR900....)

Comparisons...

This is the first Ducati I have ever ridden or owned, so was a new experience for me.

Surprising how lazy the motor is but it is deceiving and gets the bike up to speed quick enough. Impressed with the way the torque is fed in at lower revs, nice getting the back stepping out in a non suicidal way. Can't wait to change the end can to get the sound right though. Was considering an Austin end can, but got an Akra in the end.

Noticed that the fueling, when slowing the bike to very slow speeds, at low revs can be a bit fluffy sometimes. It would be good to get it on a dyno/ecu flash...but that will have to wait as Korat ain't got it and I always don't have time.

Super cool bike to be on - wins over the MT on that all the time in that department.

MT and I have done about 37K - KMs. Got the fueling and (rear) suspension sorted. The standard rear shock must be from ToysRus or something, truely shocking, so it had to go and make way for a Maxton unit from the UK. I have also lowered the gearing, which has given the bike more usability as in Singapore the speed limit is 90kph and every stones through is a set of traffic lights. Great mod that one. Traffic light sprints are seldom lost.

Reliability of the MT is second to non, time will tell about the 939 but its not a bike that gets used everyday at the moment.

Finish of the MT is also very good, hope time will dictate that the Ducati is also.

Notice both bikes are almost similar in price in Thailand (Ducati being a bit more but oozing more of a special feeling), and both are similar on power (on paper). Seems like the MT is quicker which maybe down to how the Triple motor is more lively compared to the V(or is it L) twin. Plus I have lowered the gearing on it.

Was considering an MT-10, but as I already had an MT-09, I decided to get the 939 instead. The smaller Monsters didn't appeal to me and didn't want to spend too much on the bigger bike.

End of the day, both bikes are not in the league of a super naked but more than capable on the roads. Depends what you want.

Nice to have both, but then again, as we all know.

You just can't have enough bikes, can you?

Why do you think it's lazy?

The way the motor is. Not experienced it before.

First big Twin that I have owned / ridden.

Most of my biking life has been spent on the following since the 80s:-

Two Strokes - Screaming in line 4's up to the end of the 90's, - V-Max for 8 years - in the last 9 years its been Triples (Triumph Street Triple and now MT). Finally a Ducati ?

The way it introduces power is great, very deceptive. Love the way the back can step out when winding it on.

How is the Front Fork upgrade?

Now you have full adjustment?

It is a shame that the SP model is not available in Thailand.

Cheers
