House found covered in blood - husband said he took a knife to himself after his wife left with the baby

Police called to a house in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai found a Toyota pick-up with the door open and an Itoh chef's kitchen knife on the ground.

In the deserted kitchen they found blood everywhere and another discarded knife covered in blood.

Nearby in the next soi they found the house owner named as Arjay, an Akha hilltribesman. He was sent to hospital with severe wounds to his neck.

He told cops he was drunk and took the knife to himself because his wife was leaving with his seven month old child to go to nearby Burma.

Police are waiting for her return today. They doubt the veracity of the husband's story.

Investigations continue.
