Cutty Shark
Hi. I recall reading on this forum that having an account with Bangkok Bank can be convenient for monetary transactions between Thailand and the U.S.A., so I believe I will open one. I live and work in Bangkok. I’m on Ekamai but am okay for using any branch. Could you please tell me whether any particular branch, or head office, is best. Also, any other advise on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks.
mokwit
For USD account: Head office account you can only transact at Head Office and Provincial Branches, other branches BKK only that branch. Try Main Sukhumvit branch - especially if you want a USD account - but note it has basic functionality - no debit card or online transfers etc. 'Passbook in person'. I assume you can transfer direct to a THB account via NY branch of BBK. I use this as it is direct BBl to BBL without the risk of a correspondent bank in between converting your currency for its own benefit.
jackdd
If you have a work permit you can open your account at any branch you want, you should not run into problems
