800,000 for Retirement Extension

Featured Replies

Could some please confirm that the 800,00 Baht, required for a retirement extension, has to be in a Thai Bank 3 months prior to application.

No, I can't do that because it's actually 60 days for the first extension and 90 days for all subsequent extensions. So if this is your FIRST extension, then it's only 60 days.

It's 60 days for the first years extension, and 3 months for every year thereafter.

Only 60 days for the first retirement extension but 3 months for each subsequent extension.

Thanks for your quick reply, this is for a repeated extension so it is 90 days. Thanks.

3 months does not necessarily equal 90 days! For example, 1st March to 31st May equals 92 days. Pernickity immigration officers could well latch on to this point in the same way as they do if the balance falls below the required 800,000 THB by even a single satang at any time during this period.
